HighSchoolAlums.com™ FAQs
Q: How do I start my subscription to a HighSchoolAlums reunion site?
A: Click on the "Subscribe Now " link, fill out the registration form, then submit it to HighSchoolAlums.com™. You will then be able to select a domain name, configure options for your web page, upload pictures and excel spreadsheets of classmates’ names and addresses, and more.
Q: How much does it cost to start my subscription to a HighSchoolAlums.com reunion Web site? And how much does it cost to maintain it?
A: As part of our special Beta offer, your first year's subscription is just $9.99. After the first year, the price will be $99 per year to maintain your high school reunion site. That's still a low price to pay for a high school reunion site this useful.
Q: What is a "Beta offer"?
A: In software parlance, the Beta is a preliminary stage where an application is first released to an external audience for testing and feedback. Because a Beta release is not considered to be a finished product, there may be certain features that are not functional. In return, Beta users often can take advantage of its features at a reduced price.
Q: Who should be in charge of my HighSchoolAlums.com reunion site?
A: The person who starts your subscription should be someone authorized to represent your entire class. They will be responsible for adding important announcements or new information about your high school reunion to your Web site. It is common for class officers to take the lead for upcoming high school reunions. If you know who the members of the high school reunion committee are, it may be a good idea to pass our Web site on to them.
Q: If I am the one who sets up the site, does that mean I have to do all of the work?
A: No. HighSchoolAlums.com sites allow you to provide multiple people with the ability to make administrative changes to the site, so you can share the work. We recommend assigning a Webmaster, an Editor, a high school Reunion Coordinator and several additional people as members of the high school Reunion Committee. Together, these roles give you control of the entire site. For more information on these roles, visit the high school reunion management features page.
Q: What if I just had my high school reunion? Or what if my high school reunion is still three or four years away?
A: Either way, there's no time like the present to start your subscription to a HighSchoolAlums.com reunion site. If you subscribe now, you can start the process of getting classmates to sign up for their free account, show them how to update their profile and LifeEvents™ timeline and still have plenty of time to solicit feedback for that next high school reunion. That way when the actual high school reunion date comes near, you'll have a lot of the work out of the way and you can focus on enjoying the high school reunion.
Q: How secure is my personal information?
A: From top to bottom, HighSchoolAlums.com™ Web sites were designed with strict security standards in place. For starters, we use industry standard best practices in ensuring the safety of our servers. All data going to and from our sites is encrypted by a SSL 123 certificate, allowing for secure communication of your personal information. Because every class Web site is password protected, only registered classmates have access to the site. And even at the individual level, each classmate has full control over their own profile, so they can decide for themselves how much personal information they want to display.
Q: How do I access my class web page?
A: Once your class Web page has been set up, just type the domain name into any Web browser to go to your home page.
Q: What browsers does my HighSchoolAlums.com Web site support?
A: HighSchoolAlums.com offers maximum compatibility with Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari.
Q: Will there be advertising on my site?
A: Currently our high school reunion sites do not feature any advertising from outside sponsors. However, in order to maintain our low signup fees we reserve the right to accept limited advertising sponsorships in the future.
Q: What if I decide my HighSchoolAlums.com reunion Web site isn't right for my class?
A: If you do not want to continue to subscribe to your HighSchoolAlums.com high school reunion Web site after the current year's subscription expires, here's how to opt out:
Q: What if my school is not on the list when I use the “Find a School” feature?
A: If you cannot find your school using the “Find a School” feature, you can click the “School Not Found” link to add it to our database. You can enter the name, address, city, state, ZIP code, Web site address, appropriate grade leves, mascot and school colors. It will then appear when a classmate uses the “Find a School” feature to search for it in the future.
Q: What if I post a free Reunion Announcement for my an upcoming high school reunion, but accidentally entered some information wrong?
A: When you post a high school reunion announcement, you will be asked to enter a password. If you make a mistake, just visit your Reunion Announcement page and enter the password again. Then you can either click the “Edit” button and fix the mistake, or click the “Delete” button to remove the announcement and post a new one.
